I'm a PhD student at the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON) and the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
I study bright flashes of light we occasionally see at radio wavelengths, called Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs). But here's the catch - nobody knows what's causing them! I'm working together with the APERTIF team to establish the properties of
these FRBs and to unravel their mystery...

Fencer
I fence on sabre, a weapon going so fast that milliseconds can separate a hit from being valid or not! As former chairman of the Amsterdam Student Fencing Club Esprit, I've led teams at national and international tournaments. In 2016, I led our men's team to silver at the national championships, and am looking to improve on that!
